Hi Friend
It’s been a week of gift buying, gift giving, weather warnings and Christmas songs. My Sonos speakers have been filled with every sort of holiday playlist. There are A LOT of Christmas tunes recorded by sooooo many different artists in so many genres of music styles. My favorites are MercyMe’s first Christmas album and all of the Brian Setzer Orchestra albums.
I went to our candlelight service at church with my daughter. I like fire. When the place goes black and it’s just candles burning with everyone singing Silent Night, it becomes a sacred encounter. I’m still moved deeply by how one holy moment can reset our hearts.
I’m a believer in the Holy Moment. Though my business doesn’t exist within a church, I’m conscious and hopeful that in all my speaking endeavors those kinds of experiences transpire. I’ve had plenty of moments listening to someone at a conference that tilted my brainin a way that offered an entirely new perspective. In a moment.
I’ve had encounters with individuals and during the conversation it occurs; something is said which shifts my heart to a new understanding that opens me up in an unexpected way. In a moment.
Art is famous for this. Whether music, live theater or a museum, witnessing a creation that sparks our imagination, accesses a deep emotion or transports us to another time, offering a glimpse of our full potential is transformative. In a moment.
In a gathering with friends or family observing interactions, drifting in and out of various discussions and appreciating the energy that is uniquely generated can erupt gratitude. A pause that produces appreciation for all that has been and all that is yet to come. In a moment.
The birth of a child takes longer than a moment but once transported from the womb to a mothers arms that delivery is life-altering. In a moment, the whole world can change.
